The first race Gallardo exclusive and limited edition Blancpain production was presented by Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, and Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain, the final race weekend of the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo on Sunday, September 26 in the "Piero Taruffi" circuit, Vallelunga.
Automobili Lamborghini, the Italian manufacturer of extreme super sports cars, and Blancpain, watch the world's oldest luxury brands are among the best in their respective sectors worldwide. Blancpain has recently been voted "Best of the Best" brand in the world shows the most exquisite of the "Luxury Institute" in New York. Now, both brands came together to develop a unique blend of technology and design to create the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition, making the power of the world's fastest racing series in a single-brand vehicle road-legal .
Blancpain is the title sponsor of the series of successful Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo. Cooperation between these two brands together the highest levels of excellence in automotive engineering and precision timing. Blancpain has been producing masterpieces of innovative watchmaking art Joux Valley in Switzerland since 1735. Each watch is assembled by a single watchmaker, reflecting the quality and individual attention Lamborghini built its super sports car for the road, and its 570 hp Super Trofeo race car.
Both brands share a huge passion for racing. Blancpain is not only intensely involved with the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, but also official timekeeper for the FIA GT1 World Championship - where the cars Lamborghini also compete against other brands. In July, Lamborghini earned his first victory in the championship newly formed on the legendary circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium, where former Formula One driver Riccardo Zonta and Frank Kechele charged with first-place finish.
"Lamborghini is very happy with his cooperation with Blancpain. In just its second year, the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo was imposed in the first division of the race gentlemen," said Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "Every race is a battle of dedication and passion for every hundredth of a second single - something that characterizes both of our brands. The Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition demonstrates the close link between our roads going super cars sports and racing car. "
"It's a very intense and dynamic partnership between business sectors very disparate, but with the same drive for innovation and excellence in mechanical," said Marc A. Hayek, President and CEO of Blancpain. "For me, Blancpain has always been a real revolutionary - even a little crazy - with the spirit of adventure. We have always tried to be a little different, be innovative and try things that nobody had ever achieved before. This pursuit of excellence is a passion that is shared by Blancpain and Lamborghini, "Hayek continued. "Lamborghini is definitely a first class manufacturer with the highest levels of competence in engineering, which is why the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo offers an ideal platform to attract even more attention to our brand worldwide."
Marc A. Hayek is not only the president and CEO of Blancpain, it is also an avid auto racing and accomplished. He has already claimed several victories in the Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo, and is currently fighting for the podium in the Pro-Am Drivers' Standings.
In this particular configuration, the Lamborghini Gallardo LP 570-4 Blancpain Edition shows the spirit of competition - the powerful rear spoiler for maximum stability and the engine cover of optimized ventilation were taken directly from the racing car also in the world fastest one make series. The edition is also equipped with wheel brake calipers painted yellow and Skorpius disc is, of course, from carbon-ceramic composites. A striking visual characteristic which matches the black paint is the carbon fiber used to make external components such as lens and mirror housings.
Inside Edition Blancpain reinforces the very nature of the Gallardo sports, without sacrificing the comfort of the driver and passenger. The interior is finished in black Alcantara with yellow accents and visible carbon fiber. Blancpain logo is placed on the outside and also on the seats and interior in yellow stitching. Superb traction drive system ensures perfect stability in all situations.
The super sports car from Sant'Agata Bolognese has a dry weight of up to 1340 kg (2954 lb) - the lightest model of road courses in the Lamborghini.
A key factor is the exterior and interior components made from carbon fiber. Carbon fiber is ideal for the manufacture of sports cars because its use reduces the weight and improved mechanical properties. The car performance is enhanced through better power to weight ratio and reduces the total mass, meaning that CO2 emissions are also lower.
The V10 power unit with 5.2-liter (317.6 ft in.) displacement generates 419 kilowatts (570 hp) in the edition Gallardo Blancpain. This puts the power to weight ratio of just 2.35 kg vehicle (5.18 lbs) per horsepower and performance guarantees breathtaking. This super sports car manages the dash from zero to 100 kmh (0-62 mph) in 3.4 seconds and flies over 200 km / h (124 mph) mark just 6.8 seconds later, at the end of over 320 km / h (199 mph).

LAMBORGHINI SESTO ELEMENTO
With its amazing output of 570 hp, sensational power-to-weight ratio of only 1.75 kilograms per hp and 0 to 100 km/h (0-62 mph) acceleration of only 2.5 seconds, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento guarantees unparalleled driving fun. At the same time, fuel consumption also drops because of the extreme lightweight engineering applied throughout.
The name of this technology demonstrator is derived from the periodic table, where carbon is classified as the sixth element. Thus, the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento demonstrates the worldwide leading expertise of Lamborghini in carbon-fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP) technology. The super sports car brand from Sant'Agata Bolognese is the only vehicle manufacturer in the world to have mastered the complete CFRP process across a range of technologies, from 3D design through simulation, validation, production and testing - all in a state-of-the-art industrial process that stands for the very highest quality standards.
Lamborghini drives the technology development in its two research centers the ACRC (Advanced Composite Research Center) and the ACSL (Advanced Composite Structures Laboratory) through collaborations with organizations such as Boeing, with the resulting technology secured under a host of patents.
"The Lamborghini Sesto Elemento shows how the future of the super sports car can look - extreme lightweight engineering, combined with extreme performance results in extreme driving fun. We put all of our technological competence into one stunning form to create the Lamborghini Sesto Elemento," comments Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini. "It is our abilities in carbon-fiber technology that have facilitated such a forward-thinking concept, and we of course also benefit from the undisputed lightweight expertise of Audi AG. Systematic lightweight engineering is crucial for future super sports cars: for the most dynamic performance, as well as for low emissions. We will apply this technological advantage right across our model range. Every future Lamborghini will be touched by the spirit of the Sesto Elemento."

Lamborghini Indomable Study Merges Gallardo and F-22 Fighter Into One

At the Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan, design students Daniel Chinchilla Ochoa and Alberto Fernandez Albilares prepared this Lamborghini design study, called the Indomable.
Under the supervision of Filipo Perini, head of Lamborghini Centro Stile and designer Alessandro Salvagnin, Ochoa and Albilares were tasked with creating a design study based on the existing Lamborghini Gallardo's wheelbase.
The Indomable is the result. Said to be inspired by the latest generation fighter planes such as the F-22 Raptor, it incorporates features like a Y-shaped glass engine bay cover and a taillight assembly that also acts as the rear wing.
Ochoa has had an interesting career. Having worked on everything from aftermarket aerokits for Volkswagens and Fords to designing busses for his homeland of Mexico, he then worked an internship at Lamborghini Centro Stile for 6 months after finishing his Masters at Scoula Politecnica di Design.
